Let me just start by saying that I can’t believe this beautiful San Francisco weather we’re having. It’s refreshing to see sunny skies follow days of thunder, lightning, and pouring rain (even though I was enjoying the storm). Yesterday the weather was particularly divine, and since I was in desperate need of some creative fuel my boyfriend Ben and I headed over to North Beach. We first stopped off at one of my favorite stores, Artist and Craftsman Supply, where I picked up a pack of Shizen Design papers for collaging. The packs include a pound of random sheets, all with beautiful designs, colors, and textures. I’m especially fond of their velvet flocked damask papers.
After the necessary shopping trip, Ben and I took a late lunch at Gott’s in the Ferry Building. To our amusement, we overheard some fellow patrons comment on our activities (“He’s taking pictures of her…”) and we shared equally audible remarks (“They’re talking about us…”). On our way home, we stumbled across a wonderful surprise: a food stand on Market and Sutter called The Creme Brûlée Cart. It only took us a split second to decide on the “Yes Please!”—strawberries and Nutella creme brûlée—and it ended the day on a deliciously sweet note.
I’ve been using Instagram for awhile now, and even though my iPhone 3GS doesn’t take stunning snapshots like the 4S, the app can make your life look so much more beautiful than it actually is.
