dello russo dishes to dubai

It seems you can’t swing a pair of high heels these days without hitting a blog, magazine, or news source featuring Anna Dello Russo’s inimitable sense of style.  The current Vogue Nippon editor-at-large has long been a “fashion maniac,” as Helmut Newton once dubbed her, and is frequently documented in extravagant, fashion-forward ensembles. Having achieved style icon status in the past few years with the advent of street style blogging, Dello Russo hails famed photographer Tommy Ton as her “guru.”  But Dello Russo is an expert herself in the ways of the fashion industry, and you can soak up some of her vast knowledge of the subject through a live streaming Middle East meet-up.

In celebration of Dubai luxury boutique Symphony’s first anniversary, Anna Dello Russo will host a Round Table Discussion on October 31st. Known for its creative visual merchandising displays and campaigns, Symphony brings the international standards of global style to Dubai in hopes of putting the UAE city on the fashion map.  Also participating in the event is Savoir Flair, the Middle East’s prime online magazine for international and local style.  Savoir Flair editor-in-chief Haleh Nia will partake in the dialogue, in addition to designers Felicity Brown and Camilla Skovgaard, fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Sally Matthews, and other various writers and editors.

In an era of jeggings and UGGs, Anna Dello Russo brings a much-needed joie de vivre to dressing up that should encourage everyone to go glam for day and night.  The Italian editor’s unique point of view will be an exciting addition to a panel of designers and Middle Eastern tastemakers. The conversation is set to stream live on Halloween at 4 PM Dubai time, which translates to 5 AM PDT (for Californians, yikes!) and 8 AM EDT (for all those early-waking East Coast-ians). Though it’s likely that I’ll be asleep when it airs, the discussion is well worth checking out.  There’s no doubt that those who tune in will gain insight into Dello Russo’s involvement with the style sphere, in addition to getting some pointers on that whole fashion thing.
