why you’d want to live here
Whenever I come home for the weekend, everything else stops. I sleep, I eat, I relax. I pore over my extensive stash of magazines old and new, catch up on HGTV shows, and curl up with the cats. I laze around and try not to think of homework. In essence, my normal, everyday life—or at least, what has become my normal, everyday life—is put on hold.
rainy day woman
Today was a very low key day (gym, errands, lunch, and eventually homework) but to commemorate the first rainy day of the season I thought I’d dress up for the occasion. I was aching to sport my Alexa Chung for Madewell Aimee Fisherman-Knit Sweater in public, and these seemed like the ideal conditions to do so. I’m really into thick chunky knits right now, and this is the comfiest, warmest sweater I own. Even though it’s made out of 100% wool it’s not itchy, and though it feels a little bulky it fits perfectly. Outfit posts are always few and far between, but with the soft overcast lighting I knew it was time to haul out the camera and enlist my boyfriend as photographer once again.
monday, monday
Today is an uneventful one, full of homework, homework, and then more homework. But in the midst of all that, I thought I’d share a photo of the little glass vase I bought at McEvoy Ranch Olive Oil in the Ferry Building, as well as a couple of magazines I’m excited about. The vase came in three different shapes, all of which I admired, but I bought just one.
Awhile ago I picked up Vol. 18 (June/July/August) of Les Plus Beaux Interieurs, a French magazine which has the most visually stunning shots of beautifully designed homes and exteriors from all over the world. I grabbed it for inspiration, and will have to rely on the pictures since sadly my French is no longer up to par. The October issue of Harper’s Bazaar is also a recent grab since I can’t not buy a magazine with Lady Gaga on it. It was disappointing to find only two photographs accompanying the cover article, but considering the magazine is usually filled with interesting content I’m not too remorseful.
