seeing spots

I’m seeing spots… and not just any spots: leopard-print! I hauled out one of my favorite sweaters today for a chilly walk around Union Square; sadly it was not quite warm enough, but of course I did choose to pair it with shorts and thin tights. It seems like the cold spell is just beginning, and it may be time to put the shorts in the back of the drawer until spring. I was mostly interested in testing out my new beautiful wool headband today (which I styled the outfit around), and I believe that it will be a regular winter staple from now on. For anyone who’s interested but possibly not fond of the burgundy color (gasp!) the lovely thing also comes in grey.

fall finds

Currently craving clothes (and everything else) of the quintessential fall color variety.  From high-end to the lowest price point possible, the orange, burgundy, forest green, browns, and taupe provide a palette that feels rich and luxurious.  I scoured the net for coats, sweaters, trousers, jewels, and more in these rustic jewel tones to satisfy my inner shopper (though between you and me I might have to invest in some of the inexpensive items!).  Loving the tarnished and rose gold with bronze jewelry, roomy bags, and heeled shoes.  And of course, it’s always necessary to add a little bit of leopard.  If I had to pick two “gotta have it now” pieces, however, it would definitely be the Topshop Platform Boots and the Gretchen Jones cuff (even though she seemed so loathsome on Project Runway!).  And… well… anything hunter green.  Because I’ve honestly decided that it’s my new favorite color.
