Ethereal white embellishments, textures, and cutouts have slipped onto the Spring/Summer 2012 New York catwalks.  Seen in almost every show, this look is delicate and dreamy, but with a distinct presence.  The vision of these snowy scene-stealers is a welcomed break from the cacophony of graphic florals and colors in a multitude of collections.  Though both trends have their place in the season (and in my heart), I’m drawn to the crispness, romance, and fresh feel that is associated with white.  I’m interested to see how designers from other fashion capitals will interpret it in the weeks to come.
